Karate for Kids

There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the martial arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids called Karate for Kids. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as: respect, discipline, honesty. In addition to monthly themes, our system includes the unique victory tag. Kids are rewarded special “Victory Stars.” These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Kids may receive the following stars for the following deeds: academic performance, character performance, physical performance (or those determined by the instructor).

Karate Kid:

Beginner

This class includes both the Karate for Kids and adults. These classes are for white, orange and yellow belt students. Students should expect to attend two to three classes per week (minimum 15 in 2 months).

Intermediate/Mid Rank

This class includes both the Karate for Kids and adults. These classes are for camouflage, green and purple belt students. Students should expect to attend two to three classes per week (minimum 21 in 2 months).

Advanced

This class includes both the Karate for Kids and adults. These classes are for blue, brown and red belt students. Students should expect to attend two to three classes per week (minimum 24 in 2 months). This is also a great class for black belts to continue training (as well as a special black belt only class).

LEADERSHIP

This class is designed for those students who desire MORE from their training. We offer an additional class for this group incorporating various activities (e.g. additional weapons for a demo team) as well as concentrating more on the life skills. This will give students additional help if they desire to compete at tournaments. They have striped collars.

LEGACY

The Legacy problem is designed to teach those who have a desire to teach and pass on their knowledge of ATA Taekwondo to others. There are 6 different qualities that are taught as well as skills in teaching the forms and kicks at each level, weapons and combat weapon. It is a Leadership instruction class. They have striped collars and may have their name on the back of their uniform.
